About One Man Tents

One Man Tents is a UK shop and guide for people camping alone or in twos. We sell tents, sleeping bags, mats and rucksacks chosen for one or two people, and we write straight answers to the questions people ask before their first nights out. If you're starting from nothing, our starter kits put a first night's kit together for you.

Why "One Man Tents"?

The name describes the tent, not the person in it. A one man tent sleeps one adult. Who that adult is, is up to you.

What we stand for

Honest kit advice. Every product page tells you who it's for and who it isn't for.

Leave No Trace. We follow the seven Leave No Trace principles on every trip, and we don't publish anything that encourages damage, litter or camping where it isn't allowed. How we camp sets out the detail.

Straight answers on the law. Wild camping rules differ across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We explain them clearly and keep our guides up to date.

Who runs the shop
